Marcin Bała is a technology and business leader with a strong background in networking and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technologies. With over 15 years of experience at Salumanus, Marcin has climbed the ranks, starting as a technical support engineer and eventually becoming the company's CEO in January 2021.

Passionate about WDM technologies such as CWDM, DWDM, coherent technology, and alien wavelength, Marcin drives innovation and continuous improvement at Salumanus. Bargisen Nina, Kentik

Nina has 20+ years experience of the global internet community. She recently joined network observability company Kentik, where she focuses on supporting the company’s service providers users. Nina has served on program committees and IXP boards, she is an active industry speaker, and she is co-chair of RIPE’s MAT Working Group.

Cartwright-Cox Ben, Port 179 Ltd (bgp.tools)

Ben Cartwright-Cox is a systems engineer in the day, and
bad-ideas-blogger on the side. After building a WAF, Countless protocols, and rejigging a Bank’s payment gateways. Ben is currently focused on making day to day BGP operations less awful at his self-owned company bgp.tools.

bgp.tools is at the core a BGP route collection project. Until now it has been using eBGP multihop with no IXP presence, however is now expanding into IXPs. Since building low bandwidth applications on IXP is expensive, learn in this talk about the creative ways I am reducing the cost of doing so!

el Cham Jad, RIPE NCC

A network engineer and cyber security enthusiast with extensive knowledge in designing, deploying and securing networks. Passionate about driving positive change in the telecommunications sector, Jad is currently serving as a Senior Public Policy Technical Advisor at RIPE NCC, the Regional Internet Registry serving Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. His role involves engaging in strategic policy developments and monitoring emerging technology trends. Jad also focuses on capacity building and community knowledge sharing through dedicated workshops and tailored activities for network operators, universities, law enforcement agencies, banking institutions and government regulators. Before joining the RIPE NCC, Jad was in charge of deploying IP networks for SMEs and service providers in the Middle East and Europe. His experience spans the networking domain, IoT and mobile access technologies.

Flom Zach, Recorded Future

Zach Flom is the Technical Lead for the Threat Data Enablement Team at Recorded Future where he supports the development of the company’s Netflow based malicious traffic visibility capability. In his 14 years as a cyber security and intelligence practitioner, Zach has worked in both the public and private sectors with a focus on: national security, information assurance, threat intelligence, and customer success. Zach has presented his research at security conferences, such as: THOTCON, SANS ICS Security Summit, and the Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit. Outside of work Zach enjoys spending time with his wife, being in nature, and testing out new recipes in the kitchen.

Julie Liu has been deeply involved in the field of network communications for 30 years, spanning both academia and industry. For more than 20 years, she has been an integral part of Genie Networks, a leading high-tech company specializing in telecom network traffic analysis and DDoS security. At Genie Networks, Julie is in responsible for researching technology and formulating marketing strategies. Despite being introverted, she enjoys learning from industry experts and sharing her experiences with others.

Manassakis Lefteris, ThousandEyes (part of Cisco)

Software Engineering Technical Leader at ThousandEyes. Co-founder of Code BGP (acquired by Cisco).

Prior to founding Code BGP, Lefteris has worked at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) as a research engineer, and a member of the INSPIRE research group.

Michl Harald, VIX.at

Harald joined Vienna University Computer Center (VUCC) in 1998 and currently works as team leader in the department responsible for running the Austrian Academic Computer Network “ACOnet” and Vienna Internet eXchange “VIX”. He really enjoys the neutral University environment, which is a very stable basis for maintaining open-minded exchange of information and knowledge within and between the academic and the ISP networking community. Harald is active in Euro-IX, RIPE and atnog community and chairs the Austrian Academic Networkers group since 2014.

Morgan Jon, Recorded Future

Jon Morgan is the Technical Director of the Threat Data Enablement Team at Recorded Future where he is responsible for developing the company’s Netflow based malicious traffic visibility capability. Jon is passionate about building the world’s largest, most comprehensive network telemetry visibility platform available to track threat actors and their activities while protecting user privacy. A graduate of UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, he has 15 years of experience in cybersecurity, defense, business development and public policy. Jon lives in southern New Hampshire with his wife and three sons where they enjoy year round outdoor activities.

Pavelka Matej, FLOWCUTTER

Matej Pavelka studied quantum physics and obtained PhD. For past few years, he took interest in network monitoring and network security fields. He is founder of startup developing tools for Network Visibility, DDoS Detection, and Network Detection & Response.

Ryall Ben, Meta

Ben has been at Meta for just about 6+ years and is currently responsible for the Edge Strategy in SSA, South Eastern Europe and Central Asia – this includes, with the team, partnering with ISPs and focusing on peering and caching, to ensure the people using our products get the best experience possible. Before Meta, Ben was Technology Director, Data at Six Degrees, a VC backed UK based MSP. Ben is also chair of the PeeringDB Outreach Committee (OC).

Sanghani Bijal, Euro-IX

Bijal’s experience includes DNS management for DEMON Internet, Provisioning Engineer at Level 3, Senior Operations Engineer at FLAG Telecom and Reliance Globalcom where she was involved from the beginning to build the FLAG IP network. In 2011 Bijal moved from an operational role to the top management role at Euro-IX. Euro-IX is a non-profit membership association for Internet Exchange Points (IXPs). In her role she brings the members together to share ideas and experiences on technical, commercial and regulatory matters, and works on other IXP related projects such as the IXP{DB} (IXP Database), the Peering Toolbox and support programs to help IXPs in need.

Bijal has been involved with the Peering and Interconnect Community since 2003, she’s been a RIPE NCC Services Working Group Co-chair since 2005 and served on the UKNOF Program Committee from 2006 until 2014. Bijal was elected on to the PeeringDB Board in 2017 where she served as a Director until 2023.

Thomas Weible is the creative brain of FLEXOPTIX. A real rebel who dreams up innovations such as the FLEXBOX. He dives deep into the inner life of optics and loves experimenting on real-life problems with our customers. For more than 15 years he has been part of the internet community and has specialized in optical networking.

Wojnar Andrzej, Salumanus

Andrzej Wojnar is an experienced engineer and manager with an artistic soul. He has been associated throughout his professional life with very fast-growing technology companies. He combines his technical education and broad knowledge of electronics, optics and IT with market experience, to create transmission solutions perfectly tailored to the needs of customers as Solution Architect. At Salumanus, he is also responsible for the development of the offer of the most advanced optical modules and the environment of the Smart Recode Device being the foundation of the idea of the Universal Optical Module, co-creating the company's strategy in this area.

After hours, he is passionate about photography and fine wine. He explores some of his favourite wine regions, with Hungary's Tokaj at the forefront.
